i usually go to the dentist to whiten my teeth, every 2 months. But does anyone know if these great ideas actually work? because that would be so wonderful if they do. i was reading this other article the other day and it said for the lemon and baking soda to not keep it on for over 30 seconds. I was just wondering if anyone tried them and had some feedback.
If you have only minimal staining, whitening toothpaste is clearly the easiest way to whiten your teeth at home. Brushing two to three times a day can whiten your teeth four to five shades after about a month of consistent use. Formulas for tooth whitening toothpaste are all about equivalent in effect, but kids under 16 should not use them. They can cause irritation to the gums and teeth of younger kids.
Whitening strips revolutionized the industry 10 years ago, as researchers figured out how to impregnate hydrogen peroxide on a polyethylene strip that the user places directly on the teeth. This product has existed in several iterations over the years. The various types of strips have differed in terms of the level of hydrogen peroxide in the gel to modifications in the shape and thicknesses of the strip. The efficacy is excellent for an OTC product, but you must be cautious not to burn your fingers or rest the strip on the gums, as this will cause irritation over time. If you are patient and compliant, you’ll see results in a few weeks. This method is best if you have two weeks to whiten.
Hello people! If you want to whiten your teeth in a fast way, just use baking soda+lemon. Mix it up, put it on your teeth and after 2 minutes you will have whiter teeth (If your teeth is not completely yellow). I had discolorated teeth. When I was young I used to put peroxide on my teeth and it had some effect: after about 1week I had nice white teeth, but the problem was, that my teeth were so weak, that one of them had broke. I went to the dentist and had my tooth repaired. After 3 months I went and did the laser-whitening. It was painful, but the results were awesome! Now, after 4 years I’m using some home-made methods that keep my teeth healthy and white. I discovered that even eating apples can whiten my teeth a bit. The enamel and dentin is what play the biggest role in color. Certain food and drinks will directly stain the enamel, yes, but over time the two biggest culprits are the nasty food and drink that actually break down the enamel, and weakening enamel as we age. As the enamel breaks down, it reveals the yellow dentin underneath. These remedies will focus on whitening teeth that have already lost some white enamel, but it’s also good to keep in mind that doing things to strengthen enamel is just as important so you can keep it from breaking down further. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure (or whitening!)
Chew a piece of gum. Studies show that chewing sugar-free gum that contains xylitol for 20 minutes a day following meals can help prevent tooth decay. Chewing gum increases saliva production which in turn washes away food debris, neutralizes acids produced by bacteria, strengthens tooth enamel, and provides disease-fighting substances throughout the mouth.
